A Butterfly Once Again

I looked in the box, pulled them out, and flipped through each one. Should I put them up? Are they too juvenile? Will they make me think this new life is just like the old one? I decided yes, I should put them up - all eleven vibrant squares that I have left. My butterflies - the calendar pictures Lauren and I had up in our bedroom in the apartment we shared, the same pictures that lined the hallway on the third floor of Alexander. These beautiful butterflies have been through a lot with me and they mean so much, for so many reasons. I like to think of the butterfly as my mascot; it reminds me that I may always be reborn, beginning anew once again. Those butterflies are now lining the top of my bedroom wall, much like a border would, and I think, "Now I am home. I am a butterfly once again."

A grin the size of Manhattan spread across my face when I read that you put up the butterfly border around your room. Who knew three years ago all the places that old calendar would travel?! I am glad that you're making yourself at home in your new place, with memories of times past but eyes towards what is yet to come. I love you!
