A day right out of the history books

After sleeping in for hours today, I got up and took a trip to the Old City in Philly with my roommate for next year. Katie and I had a great time walking all the way down there from Temple. We watched a short video on Independence Hall and then stood in the line to see the famous Liberty Bell and some of the most famous buildings in our nation. I actually sat in the room where the first House of Representatives meet and toured the Senate chambers upstairs (now I know why they call it the "upper house"). It was a gorgeous day in the city and Katie and I stopped at a mall on the way home. I was looking for comfortable shoes, but I ended up buying a few books instead (what a surprise).
When we got back, I made it over to the outdoor pool and took a nice swim. How refreshing after a long day of walking. Katie and I discussed where we would put our furniture when we get our apartment in three weeks (ahhhhh!). We also talked about bills, food, and all that stuff people should talk about before they start living together. We're hoping to buy some furniture (a futon, bed, and a table) from two other girls who are moving out of the building when we're moving in. It's been hard to get a hold of them, but I think it'll work out eventually. The funniest thing is that the girl I have been trying to get a hold of is named Amy (drum roll please) Petersen, spelled the right way and everything. We must be related!
I just got playing a great game of Scrabble with someone over the Internet. I found the program yesterday and have already played three times. This is scary stuff. I'll either become an amazing Scrabble player, waste a ton of time on a silly game, or just have to take it off my computer in order to save myself. Regardless, it's a lot of fun and a healthy way to relax every once in a while. Fun stuff!
