Setting up the Classroom!

Today was really exciting because we got to see where we would be teaching and meet our Faculty Advisor (a Philadelphia teacher who will be observing in our room at all time). She was great and very helpful. It was funny to see Ms. Petersen as one of the names on the door, but I suppose that I should get used to that. One of my team members and I took a trip to the local craft store this evening to stock up on poster board, card stock, and construction paper. I also made an investment by buying an electric pencil sharpener (I love sharp pencils) and got a star stamp to add to my collection (STARS is our theme for the summer).
I'm really looking forward to the weekend already and know I will have a great time on Saturday exploring the city a bit. Today I heard that they are having a HUGE concert here this weekend and are expecting over 3 million people. It's called Live 8 and I guess they have it every summer somewhere on the east coast. Almost every major band will be there and tons of celebrities including: Will Smith, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Maroon 5, U2, Brad Pitt, and more. I think I will check it out but probably not stay that long.
I wanted to give out my address now (my mom was asking for it) and let you know that I can get packages, cards, letters, etc., while I'm here at Temple (wink, wink):

Time to make some STARS posters and work on a few more lesson plans!
