back to the hiring pool (boo hoo)
Just after I wrote my last post, I spoke with the TFA recruiter in charge of finding me a job. She read me an email that the principal from the Center had sent her that said they really liked me, but they just weren't expecting enough ESL classes to justify hiring me. I was a bit disappointed, of course, but I still have a very positive attitude about the whole placement process. It is doubtful that I'll get another interview before we go to Philly on Sunday, but there may be a chance that I could come back the New York on the weekend or for one day to interview for a different position. Flexibility is the answer to everything and I've stretching a lot, so no problem.
This afternoon Katie and I are going apartment hunting with a broker. Another girl, Simmons, asked Katie if she could live with us so we're looking at three bedrooms but it might not work out because she wants to live on the other side of town. Still, we'll look and if we find something we really like today I'm sure we could find someone (out of the 400+ who don't have a place to live yet). We're looking in Marray Hill, the Upper East Side, and a few other places. Happy hunting!
