Let's Start at the Very Beginning

In less than 48-hours, I will once again assume my role as middle school English teacher. The last few days, and many to come, have been busy, to say the least. After much frustration, I was allowed into my newly renovated classroom on Friday afternoon. I spent all of Saturday unpacking boxes, organizing books, and setting up this spectacular room. The best news, if you haven't already figured it out, is that I have a classroom this year! Even though it is not completely ready (no door on the closet and an entrance door that doesn't lock) it is big and beautiful and I teah all of my classes there! This is an amazing improvement over last year when I was constantly lugging around creates to different rooms in the school, never quite having everything I needed with me.
Even though I'm still a bit nervous for the start of school, I'm also very excited and expectant. Being a sophomore teacher instead of a first-year will surely make a world of difference. Also, I am teaching three sections of Communication Arts (two dual language classes and one advanced ESL) so I will not have to be planning for two totally different classes (beginning ESL and advanced ESL/CA). I've also got a google webpage started, which will be a great way to organize and use technology. It's still a work in progress, but you're welcome to check it out: www.petersen.sj.googlepages.comhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif
So, on Tuesday we begin again, with much more wisdom than before. I'll be sure to post an update, as soon as I have time to breathe.
