Life is good!

What an exciting day! My grandparents arrived this morning after driving for two days to get to Waco and my mom arrived this afternoon, flying into Austin and then driving from there. I guess I didn't realizes how much fun this graduation stuff would be. I've already laughed so much - my grandparents are really hilarious. I also just found out that I am graduating with a 4.0 - I'm really not sure how that happened, but I'm glad it did. Laurie, one of my best friends from high school, will get here later this afternoon (I love having visitors). My grandma agreed to make chocolate chip cookies for the graduation party, but she insisted that we get Fleischman margarine at the store - I guess Blue Bonnet is not quite good enough for her amazing cookies. My mom also brought the graduation gown as planned and one dozen sesame seed bagels for Lauren and Garrett. What a silly bunch of wonderful people!
An update on TFA - Katie, another Baylor senior teaching in NYC next year, called today to tell me that she got an interview. This is great news and I hope she finds out where she will be teaching as soon as possible (keep your fingers crossed so the same thing will happen to me). We went to dinner last night together and had a great time. I really like her and I am looking forward to getting to know her much better in the next several months. I hope she keeps me in mind as a possible roommate. I also emailed two of Laurie's friends from Wash U and they both emailed me back. It's nice to know there are lots of friendly people heading in the same direction I am.
My mom's now asleep on my bed and my grandparents are taking a nap at their hotel, so I suppose I'll just keep organizing all my things and enjoy the beautiful day.

  • Drive safely, Sarah! I had such a good time with you this weekend. (And I just ate about 5 of those cookies... yum!) Miss you already. Say hi to everybody for me!
